So we were struggling. We wanted to eat clean. We were committed to moving away from dietary supplements and feed our bodies foods that they would recognize. But it felt like almost every night we were at the bottom of a crisp packet. Or, worse, trying something new; only to read the science project on the back. It made no sense. And this was the stuff we were putting in our bodies. No, no more. There has to be a Real option that is actually clean and that exists in nature – not a lab.
And that’s when we got to work. First thinly slicing whole muscle steaks and chicken breasts and we dried, and dried and dried. If at first you don’t succeed. Dry, dry again.
You see. Oven-baked, boiling or frying destroys the protein chains of meat. There is nothing pure or clean in additives either. So we put the cuts into our hermetic drying chambers and refined the process. Hoozah. It was a Crrrispy Crrrunchy Mmmeat Mmmunchie.
To infuse the flavors of the spices we use, we no longer fine slice but grind in order to achieve the snack – that is flipping clean snacking on its head.
In today’s fast paced world there is so much to do. Maximum effort all the time (and then some over-time), and we find ourselves snacking more and more. Clean snacking is important for so many reasons, but most of all snacking should be fun and delicious.
